Summer PARC Adventure
at
Kennesaw State University
(PARC-Programming, Animation, Robotics and Computing)
Find out if Science and Computing fits your career choice
The Summer PARC Adventure program is designed to reach out to middle school students (6th to 9th grade) to encourage them to consider pursuing further study in college, and to ultimately consider majoring in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields in college. We encourage underrepresented groups such as underrepresented minorities in STEM fields, women and those who would become the first generation of college students in their family. The program will be established at two sites which will help us reach out to both majority and minority students in the targeted demographic. One site will be on the Kennesaw State University campus and the second site will be at Sammy E. Coan Middle School; 1550 Hosea L.Williams Drive, NE; Atlanta , GA 30317.
The Summer PARC Adventure program will consist of one week half day sessions during July. The detail schedule is shown in the "Schedule" tab. Our successful summer PARC last year had 34 students, see student work in the Activity tab. Space is limited, we plan to have around 30 students per site this year. We will have one instructor for every 10 students.
